Big Cottonwood: Small Batch Series

Friday, the 30th of July, we will open our brewery doors for the first time to sell a beer out of our packaging agency to the folks of Salt Lake. It has taken a long time to get to this point, but at least we have arrived. Our bottle shop will be a fold out table and a cash box in front of our mash tun and our hours of operation will be Monday, Wednesday and Fridays noon to 3pm to accommodate our brewing schedule. It won't be pretty, but at least  it will get the job done.

I have always loved the Amber Ale style and have been making it for 20 years, Emigration Amber. It really is exciting to finally be able to make an Amber Ale the way I have always wanted to for SLC, at 6.4%. I used tons of whole flower hops and a fresh dryhop technique I picked up at the Craft Brewers Conference. We intend to keep making new releases in the bottle to follow our changing seasons. Big Cottonwood is $5/bomber out of the packaging agency and $10 at the table. If you decide to come buy a bottle, don't lay it down. This beer is meant to drink fresh. In September we will be able to sell our Fifth Elemnt and 529 out of the packaging agency; the price will be $12.95/bottle.
